Cobblestone Hat Crochet Pattern



Chunky Cobblestone Hat

 

Skill level: Easy

Materials Needed:
1 skein Premier Yarns Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Heathers: Charcoal
Size L-11 (8.00 mm) crochet hook
Large-eye blunt needle for weaving in ends

Gauge: 2”=2 cobble st [sc, dc] and 3 rows

Band circumference: about 20" (50.8 cm)

Stitch Reference:
ch=chain
ea=each
st=stitch
sl st=slip stitch
sc=single crochet
dc=double crochet
Sc2tog=single crochet two together
dc2tog=double crochet two together


INSTRUCTIONS:

Ribbed Band
Ch 7
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and ea ch across. 6 st.
Row 2: ch 1, sc through both loops of 1st st, sc through back loops only of next 4 st, sc through both loops of last st.
Row 3-40: Repeat row 2
Holding short ends together, sl st through both thicknesses to join edges. Do not fasten off. Ch 1, turn seam to inside. (See photo below)

Hat
Rnd 1: work 41 sc evenly around long edge of band. Sl st in 1st sc to join. Do not turn after rounds. 42 st including beg ch.
Rnd 2: ch1, dc in 1st st, sc in next, dc in next. Repeat from * around. Sl st to join.
Rnd 3: ch 2, sc in 1st st, dc in next, sc in next. Repeat from * around. Sl st to join.
Rnd 4: Repeat rnd 2.
Rnd 5: Repeat rnd 3.
Rnd 6. Repeat rnd 2.
Rnd 7: ch 2, sc in 1st st, *dc in next, sc in next, dc in next, sc2tog, sc in next. Repeat from * 5 more times. Dc in next, sc in next, dc in next, sc in last st. Sl st to join. 36 st.
Rnd 8: ch 1, dc in 1st st, sc2tog, *sc in next, dc in next, sc2tog. Repeat from * around. Sl st to join.
Rnd 9: ch 1, dc2tog, *sc2tog, dc2tog. Repeat from * around. Sl st to join.
Rnd 10: ch 1, sc2tog around. Sl st to join.
Fasten off, leaving long tail. Turn inside out, thread tail through previous sts and gather tightly to close. Secure yarn and weave in ends. Turn back to right side.
